The annual Sunshine Coast Open House (SCOH) held its launch event at USC’s Art Gallery with visitors able to tour 30 architecturally interesting buildings across the coast on Tuesday 25 September. The launch was attended by Governor of Queensland, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, with other guests including Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson, Noosa Council Cr Ingrid Jackson, USC Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Hill and Sunshine Coast award-winning architect and Sunshine Coast Open House Ambassador John Mainwaring. This year’s buildings include Gabriel Poole’s Lake Weyba House, Caloundra’s Lighthouses and Events Centre and one of the region’s oldest building’s Buderim Pioneer Cottage.
