The annual Cheese and Champagne Pop Up will return to Portside Wharf from 12pm to 6pm on Sunday 31 March.
Cheese lovers are invited to bring their picnic rug or take a seat in the special pop up lounge for a day of decadence as Portside Wharf teams up with The Cheese Pleaser, Gusto da Gianni and Moët & Chandon. Treat taste buds to a showcase of French cheeses and Champagne delighting in offerings including a platter of three handpicked cheeses perfectly curated by cheese expert Sharyn de Kort from The Cheese Pleaser, accompanied by its signature apple and walnut chutney. Wash it all down with a glass or bottle of Moët & Chandon Champagne or a selection of fine wines from Gusto da Gianni.
Enjoy live music from local artists and dine before or after at one of the many cafes and restaurants on offer at Portside Wharf, many of which are offering special deals throughout the week. Aamaya Indian Restaurant is serving up Cheesy Naan varieties, Belvedere Bar n Grill will have its Gnocchi ai Formaggi con Ciabatta for $19 per person and Burrito Bar is offering its Cheese Deluxe Nachos and Nachos Fries. There will be an exclusive Cheesy Platter for Two at Byblos, free coffee with a New York Cheesecake at Cruises Alfresco, a Cheese Box with Piccolo for $20 and ticket discounts at Dendy Cinemas and a Four Cheese Pizza special at Gusto da Gianni. Plus, Pineapple Express Cafe will serve up its Gourmet Haloumi Breakfast Burger with Sweet Potato Fries for $19, and Sono Japanese Restaurant will have a special Smoked Salmon and Parmesan Oshizushi and Subway will give foodies double cheese when you mention the code word ‘Cheese & Champagne’.
As part of the event, Sense of Taste is hosting a Cheese and Bubbles Masterclass from 6:30pm on Thursday 28 March. Five French cheeses and three bubbles will be showcased during the evening. Tickets are $60 plus booking fee, with the price inclusive of take-home cheeses after the masterclass.
Entry to the Cheese & Champagne Pop-Up from 12pm to 6pm on Sunday 31 March is free and attendees can receive three hours of free parking by validating their ticket at the pop up.
