South East Queensland’s Hilton hotels celebrated success at the annual 2018 Queensland Hotel Association (QHA) Awards for Excellence, held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Monday 8 October.

The annual QHA Awards for Excellence celebrates the best Queensland hotels across 40 award categories. Hilton Brisbane was awarded a trio of coveted awards, including Outstanding Achievement in Training for the second year running, Outstanding Community Service and Achievement 100+ Employees for the third year running, and Human Resources Advisor at Hilton Brisbane Morgan Biggar was recognised with the Administration Employee of the Year award.

General Manager of Hilton Brisbane Chris Partridge was delighted to be walking away with three awards. “These awards bring Hilton’s purpose to life by providing meaningful opportunities for team members and leadership in the community,” Chris said. “It is also a great honour to become eligible to enter the QHA Hall of Fame for being awarded the Community Service and Achievement title three years running.”

Gold Coast’s Hilton Surfers Paradise was also recognised as a finalist for its Outstanding Achievement in Training. Two Team Members were also nominated as finalists for their excellent service and talent, Assistant Front Office Manager Chris Spielmann was a finalist for the Industry Rising Star award, and Event Sales Coordinator Adrianna Hair was named a finalist for Guest Services Employee of the Year.

General manager Hilton Surfers Paradise Fiona Pryde said finalist placements are more than just a notable achievement for Hilton. “They are a true testament to Hilton and reflect our purpose-led team culture, leadership and world-renowned service that is continuously offered to our guests,” Fiona said.  “The QHA Awards for Excellence is acclaimed for shining a spotlight on our industry leaders, and we are honoured to be recognised among these, for our high level of service and ongoing commitment to team training and development.”
