The highly anticipated 2024 Restaurant & Catering Australia Hostplus Awards for Excellence awards ceremony at The Star, Gold Coast, Spicers Hidden Vale’s HOMAGE restaurant was presented with FOUR of the top awards:

The Awards for Excellence is a nationally recognised, independently judged awards program celebrating exceptional service, culinary excellence incredible ambience and value for money across the state. The Awards are judged by an independent team of trained judges who anonymously visit the venues to determine the restaurant/café winners. The scores are based on the entire dining experience from food to the customer service experienced when the judges anonymously dine.
General Manager at Spicers Hidden Vale, Daniel Lewis, said he was thrilled to see his team awarded for their ongoing commitment to excellence at Homage restaurant, and with seven finalist culinary nominations for other Spicers Retreats, recognised across various categories, he is confident of further success to come.

Head Chef Luke Wakefield says he loves the warm, friendly and inclusive work atmosphere that’s so rare. His colleagues say he is an excellent collaborator rather than a director. He is also passionate about the Homage’s market garden and truly invested in the local producers. This allows Luke to experiment and gives him full creative expression – the dream for most chefs.
