Real estate group Dexus will be welcoming a new restaurant to Eagle Street Pier. Rico Bar & Dining will join the iconic riverside dining precinct, with its famed restaurants and spectacular views of Story Bridge, taking over the space previously occupied by Aria restaurant. “Eagle Street Pier continues to evolve to meet the needs of the marketplace, and Rico Bar & Dining will be a great addition to the quality range of dining venues on offer,” said Head of Retail Leasing at Dexus, Eddie Giraldo.
Inspired by Australian, Spanish, and Latin cuisine, the bar will blend these flavours to create a fusion showcase. Owner, Michael Tassis will be heading the restaurant and bar with more than 25 years experience, including his work at the Georges Paragon Restaurant, and has said that Rico will be offering a modern, vibrant, and affordable dining experience. “We are excited to be part of the iconic Eagle Street Pier dining precinct and look forward to providing our guests with traditional a la carte service, a range of banquet and tapas menus all designed to share at affordable prices,” Tassis said. “ ‘Rico’ means delicious and tasty in Spanish and anything Spanish delivers passion and theatre, something we plan to bring to this new dining experience for Brisbane to enjoy.”
Hoping to appeal to workers, residents, and tourists in Brisbane’s CBD, Rico’s menu will comprise of freshly shucked oysters, chargrilled meats and seafood, and a live ‘Maron’ tank, where the freshest catch of the day will be presented. Clui Design, the team behind the design of Massimo Restaurant & Bar, has been commissioned to design the dining venue. Rico Bar & Dining will be joining venues such as Cha Cha Char, Il Centro Restaurant & Bar, Pony Dining, Jade Buddha, Sake, Grill’d, and The Bavarian.
