Rite of Passage was launched at QUT Art Museum on Friday 6 March. Officially opened by Angela Barney-Leitch, QUT Pro Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Strategy), the night also featured a Welcome to Country by QUT Elder-in-Residence, Uncle Gregory Egert. Curated by Shannon Brett, a descendant of the Wakka Wakka, Butchulla and Gurang Gurang clans, many of the 11 exhibiting artists also attended the opening night and lead panel discussions in the galleries on Saturday 7 March.
