In a first for Macau and Ritz-Carlton hotels in Asia, the Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge at the Ritz-Carlton, Macau is listed as one of Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2018. This marks the Ritz-Carlton hotels in Asia’s first ever appearance on the list, one of the highest accolades for cocktail and bar culture. This is also the first time Asia’s 50 Best Bars has recognised any bar in Macau.
The Macau Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge is renowned across the region for its signature cocktails and sophisticated setting in which day blends seamlessly into night. It has earned a reputation as the definitive destination for cocktail and lounge culture, and initiated many first-to-Macau collaborations since its opening in 2015, such as a partnership with Singapore’s Izakaya restaurant Neon Pigeon for a cocktail pairing dinner. The Bar & Lounge also crafts exclusive cocktails from rare ingredients through its own culinary team. Mr. Maxim Schulte, mixologist at the Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge, was recognized as the Global Winner at Beefeater MIXLDN 7, the world’s biggest gin-based cocktail competition in March 2018 against mixologists from 31 countries.
Asia’s 50 Best Bars is the first regional event created with the purpose of showcasing the best and most innovative talent in the industry across the region. Winners are determined by more than 200 members of Asia’s 50 Best Bars Academy, drinks media, mixology experts and bars consultants. The Academy spans 14 countries and dozens of cities across the continent, reflecting the relative development and importance of bar scenes in different locations.
“Winning a place on Asia’s 50 Best Bars is a strong recognition that the Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge is at the forefront of cocktail and bar culture in Macau, and the region,” said Mr. Rauf Malik, Vice President of Operations at JW Marriott Hotel Macau and the Ritz-Carlton, Macau. “We are honored to be listed amongst our esteemed peers in Asia; it is a wonderful testament to the exceptional level of service.”
