The Sunshine Coast International Fashion Festival will return for its 11th year, showcasing the latest trends at The Sebel Pelican Waters from Friday 20 to Saturday 21 October. The Sebel will play host to the two day festival with catwalk shows poolside, sunset terrace shows, a VIP Lounge, The Trade Lounge, VIP dinner, the Sunshine Coast Style Awards and the Sunshine Coast Design Awards & Hall of Fame.
Festival Founder and Director Jacinta Richmond says the event has been held at Caloundra’s The Events Centre for the past three years, but has now made the move to Pelican Waters.
“It wasn’t an easy decision to make to shift venues,” said Jacinta. “But The Sebel at Pelican Waters has supported us with the VIP Dinner the last two years and given the success of our 10th anniversary in 2017, we had to mix things up again for all involved. Melissa Evans, the General Manager at The Sebel and her team made it too easy for us to make the change. We are extremely excited.”
Networking by the pool will be a must do at the event, with all designers and VIP’s staying on site. Model castings will also be held at The Sebel mid year.
“We have chosen to add the tag line of Curated to this year,” said Jacinta. “It will be tougher for brands to be accepted than ever before. This is because the attending public and industry need to know they are viewing quality and originality. Emerging talent will of course be accepted provided they meet quality and originality standards. Everyone wants to see and discover something new, exciting and with quality that will last in their wardrobes.”
