After working in Paris for six years at Michelin-starred restaurants and undertaking a European foraging tour visiting some of the world’s most famous flavour regions, Andrew Gunn has returned to his home city as Executive Chef of The Euro and Urbane, two of Brisbane’s acclaimed food destinations.

Joining him as Head Chef is Amélie Rabaud, who was born and raised near Toulon in southern France on the Mediterranean coast. She has worked with Christophe Bacquie as well as in numerous restaurants in Paris, including Le Taillevent and Le Grand Restaurant.

In the heart of Brisbane’s Central Business District The Euro is located along Mary Street. Showcasing a European style, flanked by deep rich timbers, The Euro transports diners to a classic eatery in Europe. The Euro has recently released its Autumn menu which celebrates modern, European-inspired bistro food that’s packed with flavour. The menu features a wide array of options including entrees, mains, share plates, and sides. There is also an extensive range of burgers on offer, ranging from a vegan falafel burger to smoked chicken with chipotle, or your classic beef and cheeseburger. Dessert is limited to three standout dishes as well as cheese selections. An extensive wine and spirits list sourced from across the globe and around the country is on offer.

Among Chef Gunn’s top recommendations which are packed with local produce are: seared scallops, cauliflower puree, miso butter and crispy kale; prime cut of beef with koji rice, chimichurri, crunchy potatoes and creme fraiche; Grilled Gold Coast tiger prawns, slaw salad, coriander, lime, chilli; and Honey roasted pumpkin, hummus, Israeli couscous & ricotta. For the sweet tooth, the dessert menu features: pineapple pavlova with coconut mousse and lime; chocolate ganache, sorbet and tuile; and lemon myrtle creme brulee.
