The Tivoli Theatre will be launching the brand-new, intimate entertainment space What’s Golden on August 27, 2019.

With its 250-person standing capacity, What’s Golden will meet Brisbane’s growing need for boutique and intimate venues, attracting the highest-quality local, national and international talent to perform at what is bound to become one of Australia’s most iconic and atmospheric performance spaces. To the Tivoli’s Co-Owner and Creative Director Dave Sleswick, the new space is far more than just another gig venue. “It will welcome a varied and eclectic line-up of genre-pushing artists and acts spanning live music, cabaret, stand-up comedy, contemporary performance and curated parties and club night” he said.

The space will boast a continuing program of diverse shows from across Australia and the globe, including upcoming gigs by alt-pop songstresses CLEA and Sahara Beck, beloved indie-rockers Good Boy, and risqué evenings with HONCHO DISKO and Betty Grumble. Building on the Tivoli’s legacy as one of Brisbane’s best-known entertainment venues, What’s Golden will cater to established artist and audiences, but focus particularly on providing a performance space for up-and-coming and underground talent, filling the need for a stand-out venue in response to the increasing popularity of experience-oriented, adventurous entertainment options – whilst also doubling as an exceptional space for private parties and corporate events.

While complementing The Tivoli’s art-deco aesthetic and history, new features that will provide What’s Golden with its own identity include a state-of-the-art stage with a new audio and lighting set-up, and an impressively renovated box office, new cocktail menu, craft beer bar and a daytime nook for coffees and Bloody Marys.
