Brisbane Powerhouse is set to become the city’s latest foodie mecca with the launch of Night Feast, an immersive art and feasting experience taking over the Brisbane Powerhouse precinct and surrounding parklands.

Brisbane’s top restaurants and guest chefs will join in the twice-yearly culinary celebration, including hatted headliner Martin Boetz of Longrain fame. Food program curator Lizzie Loel said Night Feast would cement Brisbane’s reputation as a culinary and cultural destination worth travelling for. “Night Feast gives visitors an opportunity to sample the best of Brisbane’s gourmet food scene within an immersive outdoor neon-noir environment,” Loel said. “Our hand-picked restaurants have been invited to showcase their signature dishes only, meaning you can experience the city’s most exclusive gastronomic delights in one location.”

Loel said the curated culinary offering featured a variety of local and international flavours with a fine food lens. “The Night Feast menu traverses all corners of the globe, with cuisines spanning modern Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Middle Eastern, Italian, Greek, modern Australian and more,” Loel said. “We’ll have an open fire-pit for roasting, a dedicated dessert bar, quality cocktails and an award-winning wine list, all designed for communal feasting.”

The Night Feast indulgence continues with a complementary art program that includes immersive installations, roaming performances, DJ sets and live music from visual and performance artists. Spearheading the spectacle is world-leading installation artist Amanda Parer of Parer Studio, Swiss site-performance designer and fog artist Tom Mùller, and internationally renowned Australian audio-visual artist Robin Fox.

Brisbane Powerhouse CEO/Artistic Director Kate Gould said the biannual experience was unlike anything Brisbane had seen. “Night Feast will transport visitors to a surreal, sumptuous playground where world-class artists and Australia’s top chefs combine their talents to surprise and delight the senses,” Gould said.

Night Feast will take place twice-yearly from 1 March to 26 March (Autumn) and 4 October to 29 October (Spring) and will be open Wednesday – Sunday 4.30pm – 9.30pm. Night Feast stallholders will be announced in February.
