Young Gun of Wine has revealed the 2019 Wineslinger Top 50 Venues list – the wine gurus’ guide to the best haunts across Australia right now. Wineslinger is an annual award for venues where wine is the hero, and where it’s served with a sense of fun and adventure. A panel of 100 wine and hospitality experts – comprised in equal parts of winemakers, sommeliers and journalists – has voted on the Top 50, from which the trophy winners will be decided.

“This list provides the insider’s guide to the places that the toughest critics in wine choose to have a ripping time. They’re restaurants, bars and pubs that bring energy, adventure and approachability to wine enjoyment,” says Young Gun of Wine founder Rory Kent. Defined by fun, not formality, these venues have all the components of a great wine experience. “It’s the wine concept, the food, the staff, the setting, and that something special.” The best part of wine is the thrill of discovery. The venues in the Top 50 all have a commitment to wine that makes then go-to destinations when looking for something new.

The list is compiled of the perfect pieces of paradise around Australia. Whether in your home town, or another corner of the country, there is a large number of places you have not explored. Following the announcement of the Top 50, voting will be open to the public for the People’s Choice Award. Voters receive a $50 voucher to premium wine broker Langton’s and the chance to win a variety of wine experiences at Hill of Grace vineyard, Tahbilk and Ocean Eight.

The best wine venues in Queensland include, 1189 Enoteca, Maeve Wine Bar, La Lune Wine Co, The Valley Wine Bar, Cru Bar & Cellar, La Lupa and Arc Dining.
