Gold Coast‘s sector of Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific has been honoured with three accolades at the 2018 Hotel Management (HM) Awards at a gala dinner at Sydney’s International Convention Centre on Friday 7 September. The HM Awards recognised the South Pacific hospitality industry’s best staff, properties, brands and hotel and resort chains over the year.

Talent Acquisition Manager Natalie McCarthy and Regional Revenue and Distribution Manager Ainsley Baldwin, both based at Wyndham’s corporate centre in Bundall, won the Human Resources Associate and Revenue Management Associate categories respectively. Natalie is responsible for reviewing industry data and research, implementing global recruitment trends to improve practices within Wyndham and sourcing top managerial level talent for the corporate office and the business’ hotels and resorts. Ainsley is responsible for implementing revenue reporting, procedures and training across Wyndham Destinations’ portfolio of properties.

The Gold Coast based philanthropic arm of Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific, Wishes by Wyndham, took home the Service to the Community category for its work raising $52,607 for a range of charities last year and continuing the trend in 2018.  Senior Vice President Human Resources and Customer Experience Bruce Harkness, said it is an honour to see Wyndham continue to perform year after year in an increasingly tough national field. “At Wyndham, we place a strong focus on using best practice to recruit people with the right attitude and the right skills for the job, and the recognition our people continue to receive from their peers shows that our focus is at the industry forefront,” said Bruce.

Gold Coast based Senior Communications Officer Chris Logan also achieved a Highly Commended in the Communications Associate category at the awards evening.
