MR HOLLYWOOD BRINGS HIS LARGER-THAN-LIFE CHARISMA TO HYATT REGENCY BRISBANE

Hyatt Regency Brisbane has announced the appointment of charismatic media personality Damien Anthony Rossi, aka Mr Hollywood in Oz, as Hyatt Regency Brisbane Ambassador.

Damien Anthony Rossi said: “I’m thrilled and honoured to be appointed Ambassador for Hyatt Regency Brisbane. I love this property and have a long history with this site, going back 30 years when it was the iconic Lennons Hotel. I worked at Lennons in the early 1990’s as the hotel’s Duty Manager, my first full-time job in Brisbane after relocating from Los Angeles. I have such an affinity for and history with this fantastic property that it was the chosen venue for our wedding in July, which was truly the happiest day of my life. The alfresco Hibiscus Room and glamorous Lennons Restaurant & Bar were the perfect venues for our wedding ceremony and dinner reception, and we couldn’t be happier with how it all went. I have so many great memories and have had so many wonderful times at this property over the last three decades and I look forward to curating even more with the team for Brisbane locals and visiting guests who I hope will join me to enjoy everything this terrific hotel has to offer.”

Known as Mr Hollywood in Oz, dynamic media personality Damien Anthony Rossi first arrived in Brisbane from his hometown of Los Angeles in 1990 and has since worn many hats professionally. Originally a film and television Casting Director with his company Rossi Casting Group, Damien made the move to the other side of the camera in 2002 as a TV Presenter for Channel 7 which ultimately led to becoming a cast member on the network’s popular weekly travel/lifestyle program The Great South East. In 2009, Rossi took over the reins of The Sunday Mail’s iconic social pages reporting on Queensland’s biggest and best events earning him the moniker of the Social King of Queensland.

Considered a respected authority on all things fashion, Damien was recently voted one of Brisbane’s Top 5 Best Dressed Men and is a sought-after Ambassador specialising in fashion, the arts, tourism and luxury lifestyle products and experiences (oh yes, and champagne!). Mr Hollywood also knows how to throw a party, having hosted for nearly 20 years his own now-iconic annual Academy Awards Night charity event – Rossi’s Oscars, raising more than a quarter of a million dollars for cancer charities and cancer research over two decades.

“I’m extremely excited about collaborating with Hyatt Regency Brisbane’s General Manager Saraid Carey and her amazing team on some truly fantastic events that will have the heart of the city pumping even faster. Amongst other exciting offerings, watch out for some fabulous fashion-themed events out at Hibiscus Room’s stylish poolside terrace overlooking the beautiful heritage-listed buildings in Queen St Mall,” Mr Rossi said.

General manager Saraid Carey said: “We’re delighted to be collaborating with Damien on a collection of some very special and fun events at Hyatt Regency Brisbane. Not only is he a firm friend and special guest of our property, we’re thrilled to be adding a Mr Hollywood spin and some glitz and glamour to our Spring / Summer programme of events at our hotel for all to enjoy.” says

Following this exciting announcement, you can look forward to a calendar of “GlamouRossi” events that will see Damien hosting. It will start off with a series of fun and fashion-focused events including the GlamouRossi Long Fashion Lunch featuring design label Bonita Collective on Friday 11 November (tickets now on sale) and a Christmas-themed Sex and the City Trivia Soirée on Wednesday 7 December where guests are encouraged to dress up as one of The Fab Four or just NYC-fabulous with best dressed prizes on offer!
