One of the largest residential apartment towers to ever grace the Gold Coast has launched, with the $1.2 billion Spirit in the heart of Surfers Paradise opening to the global market on Friday 6 July.

International architect DBI, responsible for the likes of Etihad Towers in Dubai, Oracle in Broadbeach and Palazzo Versace in Main Beach, designed the 89-level super tower, developed by Foriseland. More than 400 VIPs and business leaders attended the official opening at an exclusive launch function at the Gold Coast’s Palazzo Versace including key political figures such as Federal Trade, Tourism and Investment Minister the Honourable Steven Ciobo MP, State Tourism and Minister the Honourable Kate Jones MP, Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate and Tourism Australia Chairman Bob East.

Foriseland General Manager of Marketing Jason Xiao said he was delighted to launch Spirit – Australia’s third tallest residential tower at a soaring 303 metres from sea level – as the company’s debut Australian project. He said the economic benefits to the Gold Coast would be in the billions of dollars over the next decade. “After three years of planning and 18 months of foundation construction work we are delighted to announce the launch of Spirit – a project without peer on the Australian residential landscape,” said Mr Xiao.

Independent research by MacroPlan Dimasi shows that over the course of the three year construction program some 945 full time onsite and offsite jobs will be created. An additional 585 ongoing full-time jobs will be created in retail, restaurant, residential and accommodation services. Upon completion, Spirit will be populated by high-end retail and fine dining restaurants, and is aiming to attract a strong cohort of affluent international tourists. Additional luxury pay-per-use services will be available to residents, including car washing and detailing, babysitting, newspaper deliveries, pet vacation care and grooming. Butlers will be available to apartments upon request, as well as personal grocery shopping and flower arrangement deliveries.

The rooftop level of Spirit will offer residence exclusive access to panoramic views of 52 kilometres of Gold Coast coastline accompanied with pools, bars, a cocktail lounge, banquet room and an extravagant wine and champagne cellar.
