Australian swimwear brand Aqua Blu will be showcasing its collection at this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival (MBFF). Established in 2000, the swimwear label will headline the festival’s final show.

Aqua Blu has shown its collection each year since designer Kristian Chase took the helm as Aqua Blu’s Creative Director. Having worked for high-end, luxury labels including Dior, Hermes, Louis Vuitton and Chanel, Kristian brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Australian brand. Kristian says his experience as well as his design philosophy has shaped his unique designs and is a point of difference he brings to Aqua Blu. “I implement haute couture techniques to fittings, designing, fabric and the look of the garments. I don’t believe in hiding or tucking things away but focus on making the person wearing my garments feel more confident and love themselves and what they are wearing.”

Euphoria is the mood for Kristian’s latest collection. He says it is a celebration of colour and texture. “The print are all very expressive and make a statement on their own. I design for a person who doesn’t want to blend in to the crowd but shine. Even my mens collection share the same philosophy. I launched my first mens collection last year and this years its bigger bolder along with a full resort line.”

Kristian is currently in Miami to show Aqua Blu’s 2018/2019 swim and resort collection at the global Swim Week. “Miami is world renowned when it comes to summer and swimwear and to be officially be invited to show our collection there is what dreams are made of.”
