Mental Health & Wellbeing Day Programs at The Banyans Health Plus

The past few years have left many of us feeling overwhelmed and stressed – taking its toll on our mental health. The Banyans has just released statistics showing a big rise in mental health concerns, with anxiety, chronic stress, and burnout leading the way. Anxiety enquiries alone increased by 99 per cent from 2021 to 2022, with the majority of queries coming from women. The data also revealed significant increases in enquiries for alcohol and prescription drug addiction therapies. It seems we’re now facing a different kind of epidemic.

Stressful situations that begin as chronic stress and burnout can progress to more severe problems such as anxiety if left unchecked. Panic attacks are one of the most common anxiety symptoms, which include shortness of breath, dizziness, shaking hands, nausea, and sweating.

Those who find themselves emotionally or physically needing alcohol, or drinking more than the recommended two drinks a day, may have an issue with alcohol misuse. Other warning signs include feeling anxious about when they will be able to drink again and trying to keep their drinking habits hidden from others.

Due to these spikes in support for mental health and dependency, The Banyans created their Day Programs to provide greater accessibility to holistic mental health treatment. Delivered over six to eight weeks, patients attend one day per week and see multiple practitioners per day. The program provides people living with conditions including anxiety and stress convenience and flexible support that works around existing priorities such as jobs, family life, and other commitments.

If you’re looking to make long-lasting, positive changes in your life, it’s more important than ever to take that first step. Change your life, and the life of those around you, for the better.
