From January 2020, while Donna Chang will remain operating as usual, The Boom Boom Room will be closed for basement rectification works to the heritage-listed Adina Hotel building, required due to a flooding incident in October 2018. But fear not, guests and patrons will still be able to get their Boom Boom Room fix at iconic sister bar Blackbird Bar & Grill, located at the Riverside Centre on Eagle Street, every Friday night from 5pm. Guests will be treated to 180 degree views of the Brisbane River, from the Story Bridge down to the
Kangaroo Point cliffs, with live music from resident musicians of The Boom Boom Room, while sipping on signature Boom Boom Room cocktails.

“Although we are disappointed with the temporary closure, unfortunately, it is beyond our control,” states Nehme Ghanem, Director of the Ghanem Group. “It does bring a unique opportunity for us to reflect on our first 14 months of operations and we will be taking the opportunity to renovate and increase the size of the kitchen and food menu offering to give our guests a more premium dining experience.”

New Year’s Eve will be the final send off before the temporary closure, where guests can enjoy a premium five hour package including cocktails, spirits, sparkling, wine, beer, substantial canapes, and a delicious food station. Plus be entertained by soul queen Angie Soul for her final performance in 2019. Tickets can be secured here. The Boom Boom Room will reopen in March 2020. All are encouraged to keep a close eye on the space for the biggest reopening celebration of the new decade.
