Brisbane Arcade transformed with an explosion of Spring Flower Show colour on 31 August for its sixth annual Brisbane Arcade Spring Flower Show, on show until Friday, 6 September.
Brisbane Arcade’s annual Spring Flower Show is a week–long botanical celebration of all this Spring and marks the arcade’s 95th anniversary as the longstanding headquarters of Queensland’s royalty of fashion and jewellery, fittingly themed Jewel In The Crown. Now a firmly established calendar event, Brisbane Arcade has been wowing crowds with its Spring Flower Show since 2014 and into its 95th year of retail life, this year sees a ramping–up of creative effort; months of behind–the–scenes meticulous design and planning, hundreds of man power hours, hundreds of kilograms of flowers and greenery from acres of flowering farmland, no less.
With a fragrant, vivid palette expected to span the full colour spectrum Brisbane Arcade’s Spring Flower Show is expected to awaken the senses with more than 20,000 stems and blooms and 50 floral and foliage varieties on show including Anthurium to Amaranth, Chrysanthemum to Canterbury Bell, Disbuds to Daffodil, Hyacinth to Hydrangea, Roses, Snapdragons, Tulips and more.
Brisbane Arcade’s Jewel in the Crown Spring Flower Show 2019 was officially launched on the night of 31 August with the Brisbane Arcade Spring Collection fashion and jewellery runway show under the stars in the Queen Street Mall followed by cocktail party inside the grand Arcade. The event was attended by more than 300 guests. Brisbane Arcade’s Spring Flower Show 2019 marks the fifth consecutive year of design, creation and production for The Event Wranglers (Sally Bell and Susan Helyar) together with the FIG Flowers team including creative direction by Lynn and Peter Jacobsen. The FIG Flowers team is a leading Brisbane florist that specialises in a wide range of events.
