Annual Queensland fashion event, Brisbane Fashion Month is back for another annual festival this October with a large showcase of local Queensland designs on display.

Planned as a major Brisbane city fashion event for 2020, the professionals behind the scenes of the events, including Festival Director Laura Churchill, have had to plan around restrictions to ensure the events are a COVID-safe success. Now in its fifth consecutive year, Brisbane Fashion Month will now take place at its new home – the newly launched Breakfast Creek Lifestyle Precinct.

“Brisbane Fashion Month works to encapsulate the most iconic, unique and creative elements of Queensland’s fashion landscape. This year, we will deliver an incredible line-up of world-class designers and creators, and shine a light on an industry that has shown incredible adaptation and resilience despite a challenging start to 2020,” Laura Churchill said.

The line-up features free and ticketed events including a few quick sell-outs of the runway shows although all are available to be live-streamed. Sustainable fashion walking tours are also part of the festival with tickets currently available with the founder and editor of Britt’s List Brittanie Dreghorn along with designer forums, multiple workshops and an accessory market.

Churchill says she is thrilled to once again bring together the most talented and creative names of Queensland’s fashion industry during October. “The effects of the 2020 pandemic have been devastating for so many industries, ours included, so there is no better time to bring together all this incredible state has to offer for a month-long opportunity to highlight and network with the biggest names in the industry,” Ms Churchill said.

“We are planning around the best advice and guidelines and expect events to look a little different this year, but will still deliver great experiences for our audience to see Brisbane fashion at its finest,” Ms Churchill concluded. Brisbane Fashion Month runs from October 1-31 with the full program and tickets available for purchase on the website https://www.brisbanefashionmonth.com.au.
