The Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival presented by TAB will return to the track on Saturday 11 May with an exhilarating line-up of racing, fashion, food and entertainment. Set to span five days, Australasia’s top-line sprinters will descend upon the Eagle Farm Racecourse.

Brisbane Racing Club General Manager of Sales and Marketing Katie Churchill says this year’s million dollar track will showcase the legacy of racing in Brisbane. “We are so proud of the racing culture we have built here in Brisbane, it is unlike anything you would experience anywhere else, and the atmosphere this year will attest to that,” Churchill said.

With seven Group 1, eight Group 2 and eight Group 3 races, the iconic showcase is expected to draw and audience of more than 46,000, gathering to watch the likes of Redzel, Boomsara and Happy Clapper take their mark. Brisbane Racing Club Chairman Neville Bell, says the full racing schedule will attract rare talents seeking to claim their slice of the $11.3 million prize money on offer. “The Carnival has gained international momentum over the past year and is fast becoming a breeding ground for future winners,” Bell said.

Recently dubbed one of the world’s best sprint races, the TAB Doomben 10,000 Day will kick start the Carnival on 11 May with a challenging $1.6 million contest. This will be followed by the Hardy Brothers Doomben Cup Day on 18 May, The Kirin Stakes Day on 25 May, The Treasury Brisbane Ladies’ Oaks Day on 1 June and the Carnival will end with the TAB Stradbroke Day on 8 June.

Fashions on the Field this year has partnered with Westfield Chermside, which is bound to ensure a fantastic display of style trackside, while Guy Sebastian and Daryl Braithwaite will take care of entertainment at TAB Stradbroke Day and TAB Doomben 10,000 Day. To celebrate the return to Eagle Farm the Carnival will also unveil its new Trackside Marina, featuring a multi-million dollar Riviera Yacht that will be craned and docked in the middle of the precinct. The Carnival will also see the KIRIN Birdcage make a decadent come back with sumptuous catering from Black Hide by Gambaro and a plethora of public activities popping up to excite.
