The Brisbane Racing Club and Channel Seven‘s Brisbane Racing Carnival is back from Saturday 12 May to Saturday 9 June, with the Carnival aiming to raise $20,000 for charity partner the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. This year’s Carnival is all about experiencing the classics, with seven heart stopping Group 1 races on the cards, supported by a black-type racing program worthy of royalty.

The first event is the Kirin Doomben 10,000 Day on Saturday 12 May, when the grand thoroughbred contest begins. The perfect day for both punters and racegoers, it is one of Australia’s best weight-for-age races leading a full black type programme. Doomben features again for the second event of the carnival, with the Hardy Brothers Doomben Cup Day on Saturday 19 May. Bringing a magical flair to the Carnival, the action off of the track accentuates the splendour of this prestigious event, with fashion and live entertainment for racegoers.

The third event for the carnival is the Treasury Brisbane Ladies Oaks Day on Saturday 26 May. Timeless style takes centre stage as the “it” girls and dapper gents vie for the Best Dressed title with prim and proper suits and the frill of a flawless frock. On the track, be enthralled by rich racing with two Group 1 races (the Darley Kingsford Smith Cup and Treasury Brisbane Queensland Oaks), one Group 2 and five exciting Group 3 classics.

The final event is the UBET Stradbroke Day on Saturday 9 June. For those who demand excellence, prepare for an elite selection of the finest food, fashion and entertainment supporting an unrivalled programme of racing. Prize money of over $3.8 million will be contested across three Group 1 races and three Group 2 races, including the mighty and pedigreed UBET Stradbroke Handicap.

The carnival will also feature a Milliner’s Market, the Maker’s Mark Carnival Ball, the Paspaley High Tea, an evening with the Nolans, a Carnival Members’ Cocktail Party and an historic Stories form Winter Carnivals Past exhibition.
