Brisbane’s Jindalee DFO opened Stage One of its $15 million redevelopment on Saturday 7 December with the arrival of Santa, free Santa photos and great kids’ activities; the launch of a full-retail BCF Jindalee store and Queensland’s first Off the Pallet homewares store; plus, the return of Rivers after leaving months ago to accommodate the new centre design.

The opening also included a new-look mall that has been transformed with skylights and a simplified layout; a brand-new entry statement for the centre; a brand-new parent’s room and toilets; plus relocated sports and fashion retailers Tarocash and iTradeGolf. The day was celebrated with a free sausage sizzle, Triple M outside broadcast and promotional prizes and giveaways, Santa’s arrival, free Santa photos, face painting and balloon art, plus Christmas Carollers roving through the centre.

The centre is renowned for its international sports and leisure labels including major store Nike, Puma, Converse, Adidas, Bonds, Kathmandu, Skechers, Quiksilver, Oakley and more. These stores will support the Stage One opening.  Development spokesperson Michael Tree, Director of Asset Management for Chestertons, said centre owners Chin Yin Pty Ltd were thrilled that Stage One of the $15m redevelopment was opening. “This is an important milestone in the dynamic transformation of the centre, which will offer the community a full-retail BCF store as well as a taste of the new look the whole centre will have with skylights and an improved layout, when Stage Two is completed next year. “DFO Jindalee was originally created to focus on outlet shopping, but this redevelopment improves the centre to deliver premium leisure, sports and fashion brand outlets plus an entertainment and dining precinct that will offer so much more to the customers who travel as far away as Toowoomba to regularly visit and shop.”

Work will start in February 2020 on Stage Two of the redevelopment which includes the addition of Reading Cinemas, and the addition of new cafes and restaurants.
