In partnership with some of Australia’s leading food industry personalities and industry body Entertainment, the Restaurant & Catering Australia (R&CA) is calling on Australians to unite and support their local restaurants, cafes, eateries and artisan food producers that have been greatly affected by the COVID-19 restrictions.

Driven by the hashtag #EatAloneTogether, their campaign encourages diners to order takeaway or delivery meals from their favourite local eateries. With the help of digital connectivity, celebrating those special moments and sharing meals together with family and friends has been made possible. Diners are encouraged to either order from separate venues and share that meal together, or have multiple households order from the same venue to form a ‘digital reservation’ at their favourite venue.

#EatAloneTogether has brought together high profile Australian dining and entertainment personalities across multiple social media videos designed to encourage the Australian dining public to support their restaurants. They include high profile chefs Peter Gilmore, Matt Moran, Maggie Beer, Colin Fassnidge, Adriano Zumbo and Neil Perry, former MasterChef Contestants Larissa Takchi and Callum Hann, journalists Richard Wilkins and Chris Bath, TV Personalities Mark and Mitch, Justine Schofield and Neale Whitaker plus many more.

#EatAloneTogether is about celebrating togetherness with food while supporting your local café, restaurant or eatery. The call from R&CA, as the industry’s peak body, along with some of its most high-profile chefs, restaurateurs and entertainment personalities is to continue to enjoy our favourite pastime, because only together will we help our favourite local culinary businesses survive. R&CA is the peak industry association representing more than 47,000 restaurants, cafes and caterers across Australia, with Entertainment supporting more than 5000 restaurants within their membership.
