Westfield Chermside is getting a taste of Texan Mexican with the arrival of El Camino Cantina. The restaurant is set to open its doors on Friday, 11 October and will be located in the shopping centre’s outdoor dining and entertainment precinct.
With a Tex-Mex menu, signature margaritas, and sombrero inspired vibes, the cantina features neon lights and fluorescent signage as part of its visual appeal. Amid a subtropical landscape and music, the cantina will seat 220 people. The launch will see a family friendly day on Sunday, 13 October with free face painting available and a Kids Eat Free offer and children under the age of twelve eating a free meal.
Thomas Pash, Rockpool Dining Group Chief Executive Office, said, “We’re thrilled to be bringing our legendary Tex-Mex restaurant and bar to Westfield Chermside. We take a no holds barred approach to all things Tex-Mex: from the food and drinks, to the fit-out, and music and we’re inviting all of our Brisbane fans to come and join us for a fabulous, first weekend.”
On the menu is El Camino’s signature Tex-Mex serving, which combines Texan and Mexican cuisine to create a distinctive flavour. Customers can expect house made tortillas and complimentary bottomless chips and salsas, which are served from restored Ford and Chevy trucks. Also served up are other Mexican fare including soft-shell tacos with seven combinations on offer, nachos, burritos, and fajitas. The cantina will also be offering a range of deals for patrons to choose from such as $2 Taco Tuesdays, 10 cent buffalo wings every Wednesday and half price fajitas on Thursdays.
Beverages will feature frozen margaritas in classic mango, strawberry, and tropical red bull flavours, with a new limited edition margarita available each month. Australian craft beers and Mexican draught and bottles cervezas are also on offer, as well as tequila and mezcals.
