Workshop with Mr Murata
Artist Akira Murata will be teaching a workshop as part of Fish Lane Studios‘ 2017 Artist-in-Residence.
Having grown up in Koriyama City, Fukushima, Mr Murata loved the beauty of nature and found joy outdoors. After graduating from Nihon Designer College, specializing in fashion, Mr Murata was a successful businessman, managing a fashion goods company in Tokyo, before his passion for painting drew him back to the canvas.
The two day workshop will include a day of florals and one of figures using layering, water-colour, and ‘Jesus’ pastels.
Participants are asked to bring their own paints, pastels, mediums and brushes. Two full sheets of heavy cotton rag watercolour paper will be provided with more available for purchase. The ‘Jesus’ pastels, designed by Mr Murata, will be available to try and to purchase.
Tickets for the workshop are available here.
