Farm2Market, a new fresh grocery delivery service has launched on the Gold Coast. Founded by Jordan Pearce, the service brings local produce direct from the farm to homes across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria, providing local farmers and food suppliers with an effective and affordable way to sell their products online. More than 40 local businesses are already on board, including Freeman’s Organic Farm in Currumbin Valley, Chasney Estate Olive Oil, and Byron Bay Olive Company.
Pearce was influenced to create Farm2Fresh through his farming background. Spending time on the family sheep and grain farm growing up, Pearce experienced firsthand the pressures that many farming families in Australia face. “It was the Australian dairy farm crisis a few years ago that was the major turning point for my family. This struggle against the big supermarkets is what inspired the creation of Farm2Market, along with our passion for supplying Australian families with fresh organic products full of nutrients.”
With a background in IT, Pearce designed the platform so that large numbers of people could be reached, giving local farmers the opportunity to expand and thrive in ways that would otherwise be impossible. “Farm2Market is all about empowering small businesses, the local farmers and vendors, who are the backbone of our country and in need of our support. It is also ideal for time poor Australians who enjoy eating fresh organic produce and value living more sustainably and reducing their environmental waste,” Pearce said.
