With more than 1.2 million passengers expected to travel through Gold Coast Airport over the December and January festive period, Heinemann Australia has opened the doors to its new 200 sqm store in the airport’s domestic terminal, creating an enhanced retail experience to those transiting Australia during the holidays.

Building on its existing footprint in the international terminal, Heinemann’s full Fashion and Accessories range is now available at Gold Coast Airport’s domestic terminal, including 22 brands from international luxury to uniquely Australian products, with a full Beauty line-up joining the offer soon.

The new shop adopts a similar look and feel to Heinemann’s international terminal store and Gold Coast Airport’s Coast to Hinterland design concept, through materials, textures and a colour palette that evokes the region’s distinctive landscape of world-class beaches, Heritage-listed rainforests and soaring mountains.

Products and brand highlights include local brands All Kinds, PE Nation, The Upside and Frank Green, all new to domestic travel retail and giving a unique Australian touch. Heinemann also brings iconic Australian luxury resortwear brand Camilla to Gold Coast Airport for the first time, following the brand’s launch into international duty-free in Heinemann’s Sydney store.

“Our new presence in Gold Coast Airport and soon in Sydney Airport domestically allows us to reach out to a larger consumer base. We can offer more brands and value-added services like home delivery, all enhancing the customer experience,” Heinemann Australia Managing Director George Tsoukalas commented. “This new move to extend our domestic reach to Gold Coast Airport was only possible because of our strong collaboration and relationship with our airport partner. We are delighted to have the opportunity to deepen our partnership with them.”

“Heinemann’s new store forms part of the ongoing upgrades we’re undertaking within our domestic terminal helping to provide our customers with more choice and an improved retail experience,” commented Adam Rowe, Chief Commercial Officer – Queensland Airports Limited. “The extension of our partnership with Heinemann was a natural collaboration given the success of the international store since its opening last year,” he said.

The opening of Heinemann’s new domestic store comes as Gold Coast Airport continues its $500 million transformation, and coincides with the arrival of Bonza Airlines, a new low-cost airline, which adds 84 additional flights a week and more than 800,000 additional passenger seats a year. Launched at Gold Coast Airport in November, Bonza’s new base is estimated to be worth more than $300 million to the Queensland economy.

Customers at Heinemann’s Gold Coast domestic terminal store can also take advantage of Click & Collect, and its relaunched Heinemann & Me Loyalty program in Australia. The revamped loyalty program has already onboarded new partners at Sydney Airport with more to come in the Gold Coast and offers a number of price advantages and rewards for members.
