Located on the corner of St Paul’s Terrace and Constance Street, Jubilee Place will welcome a refurbishment later this year designed by Blight Rayner, proposing a new workplace and lifestyle hub at one of the city’s iconic state heritage places the Jubilee Hotel.
Underpinning the proposal is the incorporation of two new public spaces, both servicing the revitalisation of the hotel, and creating an entry plaza directly adjacent to St Paul’s Terrace. A new beer garden will also be added to the rear of the heritage building. The Jubilee has one of the Valley’s largest beer gardens, serving food and offering live entertainment and event spaces. The new development would open up the Jubilee Hotel with a new plaza space, making it the focus of the precinct. All non-heritage listed and redundant structures are being removed in order to provide space for the plaza and to accent the architectural features of the Jubilee hotel. The hotel’s beer garden will also be refurbished.
Engaged on a masonry plinth, the adjacent tower podium proposal is characterised by a breathable glass louvred façade and lush landscaping that houses both an innovation hub and a public interface for the building’s occupants, exhibiting the first step towards the project’s commitment to sustainable design excellence.
The project aims to pursue accreditation in the form of 6 Star Green Star, 5 Star NABERS and Gold WELL Building Standard, providing amenity pertinent to the workplace of the future which is oriented towards healthy, flexible and engaging workspaces.
