McNab Gold Coast is celebrating a big win for the construction of Mantra at Sharks, which was awarded best Tourism & Leisure Facility over $10 million at the Master Builders Queensland Housing & Construction awards, hosted at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.

The project is valued at $23 million, and was constructed on behalf of the Southport Sharks and in partnership with project superintendent RPS Group and architects GSA Group.

McNab Managing Director and CEO Michael McNab said he was delighted with the win which recognised the quality workmanship and dedication of the McNab Gold Coast team. He went on to state, “[w]e are very proud of this project and I’d like to thank our project team and local subcontractors for their hard work and dedication to delivering a project worthy of taking home the award this weekend…client relationships are paramount for us and have been the recipe for our success, given we now receive over 85 percent of our work as either repeat business or referrals. This win recognises our team for their ability to deliver award-winning projects at an outstanding quality.”

The McNab team worked collaboratively to design the rooftop to fully utilise the entire surface area and capitalise on the views of the football fields and Surfers Paradise skyline. This redesign created a second open-air rooftop green space for private functions, in addition to the guests’ rooftop bar which is now larger and partially enclosed to achieve more protection from the weather.

The annual Master Builders Housing & Construction Awards recognise members at the forefront of building innovation and quality craftsmanship, promoting and showcasing excellence in Queensland’s housing and construction industry. McNab employs more than 50 people at its Gold Coast office and is currently working on eight projects across the region.
