MLK Espresso Bar & Cafe is introducing its new menu in celebration of its third birthday. August last year saw Scott Jennings, a long-time Gold Coast local and entrepreneur, purchase the cafe, renovating the location ever since.
MLK Espresso Bar & Cafe, nestled in the bottom of the historic Hi-Ho Apartment Building, started in late 2016 as My Little Kitchen. Over the years, in true Australian fashion, locals shortened the name to MLK, and it stuck. In August 2018, Jennings bought the restaurant with the idea of transforming what had affectionately become known as a hidden gem to a true destination for those searching for the best breakfast on the Gold Coast.
The new look and feel of MLK was inspired by the Hawaiian word aloha and brought to life with the help of Aloha Designs (true story). By welcoming visitors and locals alike with the aloha spirit (a warm smile, a kind word and delicious food) it is Jennings’ hope the cafe’s coastal charm and humble atmosphere will make foodies feel right at home and like all guests are part of the family.
