We spoke to Elizabeth O’Connor-Cowley, Founder and Designer of article, about all things fashion this winter.
Favourite international holiday destination and why?
Paris. It’s never a holiday as such, rather a “working holiday” however I am always excited to visit because it is just so vastly different to where we live.
Ultimate Australian escape and why?
I enjoy any holiday where the beach is close by so I’m going to say Hayman Island is my ultimate Australian summer escape as it holds special memories (our first visit was our honeymoon).
Which do you prefer — country or city living and why?
Whilst I grew up in the country (South West Queensland) I do prefer city living as an adult. Having access to art galleries, boutiques, restaurants, cafes, cinemas (and the airport) is important to me.
Favourite room in home and why?
My studio is my favourite room in our home because it houses all my creative tools. I have adorned the walls with graphics/artworks and spend most of my time in this space so it is just as well I love it.
If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be and what would you serve?
There are too many to name. But definitely Coco Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, Andy Warhol and Princess Diana. I wouldn’t be too concerned about what the menu looked like (so long as it was fresh Australian-grown food) as I’d be too consumed in the conversations.
A weekend in winter is best spent …
Wandering around art galleries, enjoying a meal with friends and tucked up under the doona watching a movie in bed with a chocolat chaud.
What is your go-to accessory?
The article Pochette (Pouch) because it effortlessly fits all my essential items and can so easily be coordinated with any outfit by interchanging the various coloured straps and charms.
