Queensland Ballet and Spicers Retreats have officially launched its partnership series. Spicers Hidden Vale in Grandchester, Spicers Tamarind Retreat in Maleny and Spicers Peak Lodge in Maryvale will see the arrival of ballet fans from August 2018. Guests will enjoy a series of intimate weekend experiences and performances, each curated by Queensland Ballet Artistic Director and famed dancer, Li Cunxin.

The events will take place from August 2018 to December 2018, showcasing segments of Queensland Ballets performances of La Bayadère, Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella and The Nutcracker. The pair worked closely to marry ballet and hospitality, to provide an intimate experience.

“Each package has been curated to reflect the retreat at which we are hosting guests, but regardless of the location, people can expect a wide-range of experiences, spanning from intimate Q+A sessions and Queensland Ballet coaching sessions, interspersed with Spicers Retreats’ finest restaurant offerings through to champagne masterclasses,” Mr Li said. Each experience will play host to 20 to 40 guests,  depending on location. Spicers Retreats owner Jude Turner expressed her excitement at the partnership.

“Excerpts from some of our best ballets will be performed as a series of mesmerising pas de deux, set in stunning natural surroundings – it’s sure to be an unforgettable experience for those that secure a ticket,” Mrs Turner said. “Our retreats are ideal for hosting intimate events in stunning open spaces, and we could not be more excited to facilitate this opportunity at three of our leading Retreats in Queensland. Guests can expect a bespoke experience, with degustation menus from our hatted-restaurants to match the accompanying performance – such as a Golden Goose egg dessert to complement the Swan Lake at Spicers Hidden Vale. We’re thrilled to partner with Queensland Ballet and to support the arts through this natural brand fit – and we hope that this will continue to grow into 2019.”
