Bright, welcoming, and professional describe Xtend Barre’s St Lucia studio. Xtend Barre offers dynamic classes designed to suit all fitness levels, ages and genders with the studio boasting a timetable of classes in Pilates, ballet, yoga, barre, and fit ball.

The signature style successfully merges an intense full body workout with the elegance of the ballet barre. The enjoyable and fast-paced class allows you to perfect your ballerina poise while working muscles you never knew existed. The team have created an environment that is inclusive of all abilities, where everybody is welcome. The studio also offers yoga, with instructor Sarah led the class to serious relaxation bliss. The blend of traditional yin yoga, chanting and meditation was the perfect way to relieve any stress or tension from the day.

My Xtend experience at the studio would not be complete without giving the Sweat class a try. The 25 minute workout utilises a scientific formula that has been proven to burn a significant number of calories in a short amount of time. This serious cardio workout pushes you to the maximum. Hot and sweaty? Tick! Euphoric and invigorated? Big tick! The instructor Samara has an enthusiastic personality and was able to keep the class inspired to keep going even when we were feeling exhausted.

As well as the fitness classes the studio offers ballet classes that are open to all levels. Ballet repertoire with studio owner Suzie Combemorel combines traditional barre exercises with ballet choreography that awakens the inner dancer in everyone. With a background in the Australian Ballet and the Moulin Rouge, Suzie’s passion for ballet is admirable and definitely is reflected throughout the class.

The unique blend of dance and Pilates combined with the infectious energy of the team creates motivating, addictive and effective classes that encourages everybody to get involved.
