Robe is an Australian resort wear label founded by Rebecca Kroon. Designed in Australia, it has quickly become a go-to brand for luxury garments that transition effortlessly from water to shore. Robe have been awarded with the Lord Mayor’s Global Entrepreneur Grant to help expand the brand into global markets and reach new customers.

“It is really exciting to have Robe recognised as a progressive and innovative brand in the fashion space” says founder and designer, Rebecca Kroon, “ Brisbane has been integral in the formation development and life of Robe, we are very much a Brisbane brand. Our fabrics and designs are grounded in everything our beautiful city has to offer. In the very near future we will push into the States as there are many locations there that are reflective of our relaxed laid back and natural Australian lifestyle. But we certainly will not be stopping there with the UK and Europe on our list in the not too distant future also. We have a unique product that resolves a few problems. The first is having something to throw on directly over wet swimmers so you can cover up without having to fully dry off. This means that there doesn’t ever have to be a gap between swimming and being able to re-apply sunscreen as you can throw on a Robe until you are dry and can re-apply. It also empowers women who may feel vulnerable by the water – they can cover up without feeling covered.” Says Rebecca.

The Lord Mayor’s Global Entrepreneur Program assists early-stage, growing businesses to connect to international markets, customers and investors and grow their start-up beyond Australian borders. The program provides grants of up to $5,000 for use in growth activities.
