Located at Zero Constance Street in, this secretive new bar combines classic bartending and old school personalised service alongside a bespoke menu of cocktails, live music and tasty tapas. Shhh! encompasses contemporary charm and excellent service. It’s comfortable with cozy corners but with the sophistication and luxury of a buzzing inner-city bar. After dark, Shhh! will transport guests to another time and place with its elegant surrounds.
Open from dusk til late, the space will offer a gin focused menu of approximately 70 gins, as well as a special menu from the renowned small batch Adelaide Hills Distillery. Gin lovers can enjoy a range of refreshing and botanical G&Ts and also gin flights ($18) featuring gins from Australia, France, Germany, UK, USA and Iceland. The food at Shhh! is designed to be shared. From small shares of pork belly baos with sticky plum dressing, to charcuterie boards and cheese plates for bigger appetites.
Designed by BSPN (designers of the award-winning Osbourne Hotel), the vision of Rod Barr & Jade Darlington has come alive, delivering a space beyond expectations. With maroons, navy, burgundy and gold featured, the fit out and styling is reminiscent of London’s prohibition days. The space flows through various areas with large booth seating through to dry bars, and sizeable chesterfield armchairs. Or sit at the bar and get a front row seat and watch your barkeeper concoct the perfect cocktail.
“There is a gap in the market between a fun bar that fosters the atmosphere of an upbeat club and a place that is higher end. It’s for people who not only want a party spot, but who also want to feel comfortable in plush surrounds. It’s a happy medium between lounge bar and club, and for us, it has been an exciting and unique project to work on. It’s a new vibe for Brisbane,” said General Manager, Jason Hirt.
Guests attending the venue on Wednesday & Thursday evening will be treated to live piano bar entertainment and on weekends a DJ playing an eclectic and classic party playlist with old and new favourites. Enjoy a scotch or gin and allow Shhh! to take you on a journey to the days of old, when ladies and gents indulged on luxury and grandeur in hidden speakeasies – an era of evening libations and cloak and dagger meetings.
