Simone’s love story began when she met Jack Ingles, spending hours smiling and laughing over a long lunch almost six years ago. When asked how they met, Simone and Jack admit they have their very own cupid to thank for the introduction. Simone met Jack by chance, when a friend’s mother spotted him in a crowd and insisted she had the perfect girl for him. The rest, as they say, is history.
Making their first contact through social media, the pair became inseparable, and it was not long until Jack decided he would propose on holiday in New Zealand. Jack suggested a walk by Lake Wakatipu after a romantic dinner. There, the couple were in awe of the snowcapped mountains and rain sprinkled lake, and as Simone searched for rocks to skim, she turned around to find Jack on one knee holding a wooden ring box. “I was so, so happy! It was such a perfect and sweet moment, one that I will remember forever,” said Simone.
After returning to Brisbane, the bride-to-be enlisted the help of Eva from Foreva Events to turn her wedding dreams into a reality. Simone and Jack’s day began at Soda Apartments, with the bride’s hair styled by close friend Milly of Barberdollz Hair & Makeup, and her makeup swept on by Janise Chan, or JDolls. She stepped into a Berta Bridal inspired gown, created by dressmaker Jane Katsoufros with material from the Emporium’s Alla Moda. Simone held a bouquet of Proud and Playa Blanca Columbian roses matching the venue’s decoration of hydrangeas, Columbian roses, lisianthus, polaris and spray roses, organised by Stylised. Jack wore a custom suit, created with the help of Ryan at Bulimba’s Black Jacket Suiting. The couple carefully selected each detail, down to a personal message embroidered inside his jacket.
Their ceremony took place at Old Government House within QUT’s Gardens Point Precinct, with Simone commenting, “It felt like a little slice of Tuscany in the heart of Brisbane.” The pair were married by Pastor Jake Smith, who Simone describes as “such an amazing man”. He put her and Jack at ease from the first word of their ceremony. “How he represented Jack and I on the most special day of our lives was so genuine, so loving and kind. He made our ceremony unforgettable.”
The pair ended the day at Sub-Urbane of Urbane, where the couple had marked their past four anniversaries, celebrating their big day with 22 of their closest friends and family. They enjoyed an eight-course degustation with wine pairings and a three-tier white cake from Emma J’s Cakes layered with orange and almond, cherry ripe and Jaffa flavours. Thanks to Jason from Lucas & Co photography, Jack and Simone are able to remember their nuptials forever after with his “incredible” images. Simone says Jason helped them both to relax in front of the camera and captured the essence of their special day in each photo.
Following their wedding day, the newlyweds embarked on an equally romantic trip across Europe and Abu Dhabi.
