Startups and investors came together at the Startup Invest RiverPitch 2018 event hosted by River City Labs on Wednesday 23 May. The event encouraged startup companies have conversations with potential investors, with companies like Clipchamp receiving an expectant investment after their pitch had been delivered.

The six RiverPitch finalists including Paypa Palne, TalentVine, Canaria and Icosian delivered pitches of the highest calibre as they looked to secure crucial Series A funding from the group of high-powered national and international investors. The feedback from attendees was positive. Most of them said Brisbane needs to host events like Startup Invest as much as possible, to develop the community as a viable alternative to the startup “juggernaut” in Sydney.

RiverPitch 2018 was hosted by River City Labs and supported by McCullough Robertson and Morgans. River City Labs fosters the growth of startup companies wanting to solve big problems. It provides resources to empower, support and connect entrepreneurs.
