Queensland Symphony Orchestra presented The Great Symphony on 20 July, under the baton of internationally acclaimed Australian conductor, Simone Young and featuring soloist Nils Mönkemeyer on Viola. The concert featured the premiere of Brett Dean’s – Notturno inquieto, and Bartók – Viola Concerto and Schubert – Symphony No.9 in C (Great C Major) at the Concert Hall. The Great Symphony finished with a standing ovation encore of J. S. Bach – Sarabande in G minor from Suite No.2.
