The Yiros Shop, a Greek-style street-food business with seven outlets in Brisbane, is set to open its first retail site in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast.

Nick Mitrossilis, founder of The Yiros Shop, described the move to Burleigh Heads as a major step in the expansion of the business. “We’ve had enormous success in Brisbane and when we began looking to expand, Burleigh was the obvious choice for us to establish a flagship outlet on the Coast,” he said. “Burleigh is the undisputed dining and leisure heartland of the Glitter Strip and we’re looking forward to bringing our unique take on Greek food to the local scene.”

Rudi Scutti, of newly established commercial property agency RE Ventured, negotiated the 124sqm tenancy on the corner of James and Connor streets, a site formerly occupied by The Coffee Club at Burleigh for a decade. According to Mr Scutti, the lease affirms the strength of prime Gold Coast retail precincts such as Burleigh Heads despite the ongoing impact from the pandemic.

“This is the best location in Burleigh Heads and arguably on the Gold Coast, only 200 metres from the iconic Burleigh Heads beach with plenty of car parking all around,” said Mr Scutti. “It’s the perfect combination for a dynamic business like The Yiros Shop which has an incredible offering catering for customers from the early hours of the morning through to the evening,” he said.

The new Gold Coast outlet is part of a staged expansion by The Yiros Shop which is targeting more than 10 new stores by the end of next year. The Yiros Shop at Burleigh Heads is expected to open in November.
