Music fans from Australia and all over the world converged on the Surfers Paradise beachfront for Asia Pacific’s ultimate legends tribute festival, VIVA Surfers Paradise. Held from Friday July 12 to Sunday July 21, the renowned celebration of music saw more than 25 free and ticketed events hosted within the precinct including continuous tribute artist performances, live music, street performances and more.

Hosted by Surfers Paradise Alliance (SPA) and sponsored by The Island, Sea World Cruises, Chevron Renaissance Shopping Centre, Warner Bros. Movie World, NBN and 92.5 Gold FM, this year’s event was hosted by some of the world’s best tribute artists including John Blunt performing as Freddie Mercury in The Killer Queen Experience, Greg Andrew in the Elton John Experience, The Beatlegs as The Ultimate Beatles Tribute, and Mark Andrew in his genre-defying Dead-Set Legends Show.

The star of the show, Elvis Presley made more than one appearance throughout the event with a host of international Elvis Tribute Artists embodying the king including the likes of Diogo Light, David Lee, and Australia’s very own Brody Finlay, the reigning VIVA Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest winner and Parkes Elvis Festival winner 2019.

With an extensive program dedicated to entertaining people of all ages, Surfers Paradise Alliance CEO, Mike Winlaw, says VIVA Surfers Paradise is a live music event unlike any other.

“VIVA Surfers Paradise is a celebration of everything there is to love about music with spectacular performances from world-class tribute acts along with classic cars, the VIVA Street Parade, beachfront markets, the famous Renewal of Vows, and street performances,” he says. With the event now in its eighth year, VIVA Surfers Paradise has gained worldwide recognition as the AsiaPacific’s biggest celebration of the music, memories, and moments of legendary music icons both past and present — many of which were seen and heard on the streets of Surfers Paradise throughout the festival.
