This Friday the 23rd October marks Barramundi Day, which supports and celebrates our nation’s farmers by encouraging Brisbane locals to book in lunch or dinner at their favourite seafood restaurant.

By asking for the Aussie barra you will be served the one-day-only chef specials using barramundi delivered that same morning from Australian sustainable barramundi farms from the Northern Territory and Far North Queensland. Eateries will include OTTO Brisbane, Rick Shores, The Fishmongers Wife, Hemingway’s Brewery Cairns, Zinc Port Douglas, Noosa Boathouse and many more.

From 1pm to 2pm on Barramundi Day keen fish goers can tune into Netflix’s recent show Chef Table starring Chef Lennox Hastie where he will be giving viewers a master class titled cooking with fire. In the free online master class, Lennox will demonstrate his favourite ways of cooking Australian barramundi on an open flame, live from his Surry Hills NSW restaurant.

Lennox will share his top tips to cook different parts of the fish and insider tips to nailing the perfect barbequed barramundi. Following the master class, viewers will have the rare opportunity to ask the chef questions as part of a live Q&A. You can register for free here.
