A simple yet sophisticated restaurant has joined the Burleigh Heads cuisine scene bringing a relaxing dining experience and setting for customers. The French-inspired restaurant Maman, which is French for mum is the creation of acclaimed restaurateur Oliver Frost, and good friend turned business partner Matt Poole.

Both men have an eye for design and style, and together with their love of dining out, they have used their flair and experience to create Maman. For this restaurant, it is the small touches that bring to life the curated cuisine and interiors that set this venue apart. The share plates complemented by sustainable wines and no-nonsense cocktails as well as the incredible ambience crafted through the chic styling featuring Jai Vasicek’s tile art tell the story behind Maman.

The menu is specifically designed to invoke a feeling of celebration and family through collective dishes and bites served with love from local and organic ingredients that have been nurtured from the ground up, giving every customer handmade and simple dishes. Mr Frost says his experience has enabled him to take his learning’s from his previous ventures and family ties to see his restaurant materialise.

“I have spent my whole life under my Mum and Aunties feet while they ran their restaurants, so I have been around this business my whole life, so I feel it’s only natural that I continue. They are the inspiration behind our entire menu. I want people to experience the flavours they create and the amazing dishes I have grown up eating. I can’t wait for people to enjoy our menu that is designed to share, so everyone gets to enjoy the tastes,” he said.

The two restaurant owners will ensure Maman is a success as both men have the passion and vibrancy along with excellent restaurant expertise and eyes for new ideas.
