Brisbane’s newest private event space is almost here, with Arc & Family Pots announcing the launch of its “pinkest” concept yet El’ Rosa.

Located in the courtyard behind Arc + Family’s iconic pink store on Fortitude Valley’s James Street, El’ Rosa will be available to host Brisbane events, bridal showers, engagements and all other private parties from Friday 29 June. Outside of hiring hours El’ Rosa will be open to the public, serving coffee and pink drinks daily.

Working mum and former make-up artist Ash Keily, along with husband Ben Keily, are the creative minds behind both businesses. They said El Rosa was designed to be the ultimate Brisbane space for pink, pots, pricks (cactus) and plants. “El Rosa literally started from a slice of grass and a timber fence out the back of our store and now we’ve built it into a beautiful pink wonderland over the last five months,” said Ash. “It is something Ben and I have personally done in every spare minute outside of running the store and raising our two kids, so the space is our little love project that we want to share with everyone.” When asked where the inspiration came to create a dedicated pink space Ash said it was a personal decision, always being a girly-girl and drawn to the blush shade. “People know us for our iconic pink and mint branding, so I thought why not carry that love into a space everyone can enjoy and style their way.”

The couple launched Arc & Family Pots in 2014, not long after having their first child, son Noah. The idea came to Ash when she was looking for decorative pots for her own house and could not find what she was looking for. “I have always been creative and just thought why not do it myself? Ben has a background in design and printing, so he was always there to help if I got stuck,” said Ash. She started posting her creations on social media and was soon flooded with requests for custom pots from friends, family and other retailers as wholesale products. “We started at our house, then out grew that to a pop-up store and online store. Shortly after, we moved to a store in Bulimba, then out grew that into our dream space on James Street last year; and we have loved every minute of the journey.”

El Rosa will be officially launching to the public from Friday June 29 and will offer custom drinks and catering packages in collaboration with Sina’s Kitchen.
