The venture by rawGROUP Hospitality opened late last year, recruiting Executive Chef Joey Goldman to offer authentic Italian cuisine with a home style touch.
Goldman’s knowledge of Italian cuisine stems from his experience working with Jamie Oliver, running the six Jamie’s Italian restaurants across Australia. He has joined the Casa Cibo family to give his own twist to traditional Italian dishes.
“We’re very excited to finally become solid members of the community by providing homely Italian food using only the finest quality ingredients,” says Goldman.
The family friendly restaurant offers an array of dishes, from a classic spaghetti bolognese with fresh pasta made daily, to lesser known favourites such as the wood fired porchetta on corn and buckwheat polenta.
Goldman and his team create weekly lunch specials that differ from the regular menu, with previous favourites from this seasonal menu including honey ricotta filled cannoli, and hand stretched pizza with silky bechamel.
Half of this menu would not be possible without the likes of the two Stefano Ferrera pizza ovens, imported from Naples in Italy. The ovens are a main feature on the ground floor and offer entertainment for diners who want to see how pizzas are made.
During the week Casa Cibo is open from 11am and offers lunch, dinner and dessert.
On weekends breakfast is served from 8am. Alongside the food menu, Casa Cibo boasts an extensive drinks list including a selection of wine and cocktails.
